commenting on the Supreme Court judgement to
disqualify PML-N leader Mr Nawaz Sharif and
former Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif
has stated that this decision is not of
President Asif Ali Zardari and is in fact
the judgement of the Supreme Court,
therefore, it is not appropriate to blame
President Zardari for this decision. He said
that when Mr Nawaz Sharif does not recognise
the current Supreme Court, has been terming
it as illegitimate and does not appear
before these courts then he should have
stopped the lawyers of their proposer and
seconder from appearing before the same

MQM Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has
expressed his concerns and sadness over the
clash between two groups in Shah Faisal
Colony Karachi resulting in arson and
violence. In a public appeal he has
requested all to observe and maintain
sectarian harmony and defeat all
conspiracies of instigating sectarian
clashes in the city. Mr Hussain said that
the people of Karachi have been
observing sectarian harmony and brotherhood
for the past so many years, however, some
elements are conspiring to disturb the
peaceful atmosphere of the city and the
recent incidents of Shah Faisal are part of
this conspiracy. He appealed to people of
all sects to remain peaceful and maintain
their unity and defeat all such
conspiracies. He also appealed to the
religious scholars and ulemas of all sects
to play a proactive role in maintaining and
strengthening sectarian harmony. He also
appealed to the Government to take all
necessary steps to ensure that life and
property of the citizens are protected and
peace prevails in the city. |
