 Conspiracy Of Some Elements To Disturb Sectarian Harmony, Brotherhood & The Peace Of Karachi – Altaf  Hussain

London 21st February, 2009 MQM Founder & Leader Mr Altaf Hussain has expressed his concerns and sadness over the clash between two groups in Shah Faisal Colony Karachi resulting in arson and violence. In a public appeal he has requested all to observe and maintain sectarian harmony and defeat all conspiracies of instigating sectarian clashes in the city. Mr Hussain said that the people of Karachi have been  observing sectarian harmony and brotherhood for the past so many years, however, some elements are conspiring to disturb the peaceful atmosphere of the city and the recent incidents of Shah Faisal are part of this conspiracy. He appealed to people of all sects to remain peaceful and maintain their unity and defeat all such conspiracies. He also appealed to the religious scholars and ulemas of all sects to play a proactive role in maintaining and strengthening sectarian harmony. He also appealed to the Government to take all necessary steps to ensure that life and property of the citizens are protected and peace prevails in the city.
