London – 18th January 2010 MQM UK Unit organised a Quran Khawani at MQM UK Office in London. Quran Khawani and Fateha were held for the departed souls of Quaid-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain’s cousin sister Iqbal Jehan, Member MQM coordination committee Javed Kazmi’s younger brother Aamir Hussain Kazmi and member MQM UK Unit Azmat Qaimkhani’s mother in law. Members of MQM Coordination Committee Muhammaed Anwar, Javed Kazmi, Anees Ahmed Advocate, Tariq Javed, Qasim Ali Raza, members of MQM UK Organizing Committee, Office bearers of different Units and large number of workers were also present. Later in the eve prayers were made for the deceased people, martyrs and success of the movement. Special prayers were also held for the long life of Quiad-e-Tehreek Altaf Hussain. Sheffield and Birminghim Units of MQM UK also arranged Quran Khowani and Fateha sessions respectively.

Karachi – 8th January 2010 The MQM Coordination Committee has said that what is the connection between the MQM workers and Urdu speaking community and the in-fight between the Lyari Gang War Groups? The Coordination Committee said that on 7th January 2010, a bloody fight took place between the Lyari Gang War Groups and as a result several people were murdered, however, today on 8th January 2010, the criminal elements of Lyari Gang War without any provocation or reason not only kidnapped the MQM workers and Urdu speaking community members but also brutally murdered them. The target killings of MQM workers have become a daily occurrence. The high officials of Sindh Government as well as the Federal Government have been repeatedly informed of these heinous incidents, however, with no positive outcome. No action has been taken and none of the murderers have been arrested so far. Therefore, the MQM Coordination Committee now appeals to the Pakistan Army, high officials of the Pakistan Rangers and Intelligence Agencies including the honest and unbiased police officers to come into action to provide security to the life and property of innocent people; and it is their legal and constitutional professional obligation to maintain law and order provide safety to innocent human lives

Mushahid Hussain demands open Judicial inquiry over the Ashura day tragedy PML-Q Delegation visited MQM Head Office in Azizabad, Karachi

KARACHI: The PML (Q) secretary general Mushahid Hussain Syed has demanded for open public inquiry under the supervision of Supreme Court over the tragedy of Karachi on Ashura day and it should be made live on TV. He made this demand during a visit to 90 Azizabad along with PML (Q) delegation and also held talk with MQM founder Altaf Hussain, MQM Raabta committee members including Dr Farooq Sattar and Babar Ghauri welcomed him. Talking to media after holding meeting with MQM Raabta committee members at 90 Azizabad Mushahid, Mushahid condemned the Karachi tragedy on Ashura day in strongest words, and fully shared the sorrows of people of Karachi.
