LONDON: 31ST OCTOBER 2011: Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has congratulated Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan and other leaders and workers of his party on their successful public meeting in Lahore. Mr Hussain said that the PTI public meeting was the breath of fresh air in the political atmosphere of Pakistan. KARACHI: 6TH OCTOBER 2011 The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) has welcomed the decision of the Supreme Court in the Suo Motu Action Regarding Law and Order Situation in Karachi. “We sincerely respect the decision of the Supreme Court and hope that it will go a long way in bringing a durable peace in Karachi and the criminal elements will be weeded out.” The Co-ordination Committee thanked honourable Chief Justice Iftakhar Chaudhry and other honourable judges of the Supreme Court for taking notice of failing law and order situation and killing of innocent people in Karachi. The notice helped in restoration of peace and lives of innocent people were saved. The Co-ordination Committee said that the MQM will continue to play its role for bringing peace and stability in Karachi. Mr Altaf Hussain had also made it clear on a number of occasions that there was no room for the criminal elements in the MQM. The MQM had expelled criminal elements in the past, and it has again issued strict instructions to zones, units and sectors to ensure that no criminal manage to infiltrate in the ranks and file of the party. The Co-ordination Committee once again invited all the religious and political parties with an open heart to come forward and work together for bringing peace, stability harmony and the environment of tolerance.

LONDON: 5TH OCTOBER 2011 Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain telephoned President and Co-Chairman of the PPP Asif Ali Zardari and congratulated him on the establishment of renewed alliance between the MQM and the PPP. President Zardari thanked Mr Hussain on rejoining the government and termed it a good omen for the democracy and its promotion in the country. Mr Hussain reminded President Zardari of his remarks when he had visited Nine Zero after the elections of 2008 that the alliance between the MQM and the PPP would continue to the next generation as it was not an alliance between two political parties only. Mr Hussain said that he also wanted the alliance to continue to the coming generations for the welfare and prosperity of public at large. President Zardari agreed with Mr Hussain and hoped that the ties between the two parties would strengthen, and they would continue to work for bringing stability in the country, promotion of democracy and for promoting brotherly relations in Sindh.

Founder and Leader of Muttahida Quami Movement (MQM) Mr Altaf Hussain has strongly condemned the firing by armed assailants in Akhtarabad area of Quetta resulting in the death of 13 persons and injuries to many others. He expressed his grief and sorrow over the tragic incident and the loss of lives. Mr Hussain said that the firing on buses was unmitigated terrorism, and the elements involved in such heinous acts should be brought to book. He regretted that earlier the same incident had occurred in Mustang area of Quetta as well. The incessant sectarian terrorism had created a sense of insecurity in the minds of the people. Mr Hussain sympathized with the bereaved family members of the people killed in the firing incident and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
